In August, I had raised concerns about the demolition diversion bylaw not having an equity lens (which risked making it more cost-effective for larger demolitions to *not* divert their waste). At tonight’s council meeting, BCA Councillor Sav Dhaliwal motioned to refer the bylaw back to staff to reassess and include an equity lens/cost per sqft. The motion passed.
